The Gap :: Rabun County, GARabun County Georgia is located in northeastern Georgia, and contains portions of the Chattahoochee National Forest. This mountainous region is popular for hunting, fishing, and escaping the everyday annoyances of life as the county is home to three amazing lakes: Lake Rabun, Lake Burton and Lake Seed. Great for wilderness vacationers and those that are looking for getaway homes in the mountains that are still convenient to metro cities, Rabun County also contains a portion of the renowned Appalachian Trail. This area straddles the Eastern Continental Divide and is home to the second and third highest peaks in Georgia, Rabun Bald (4,696 ft) and Dick's Knob (4,620 ft).
